Groundbreaking Art Exhibit #8

About the Exhibit

The Groundbreaking Art Exhibit is a juried show that goes up (and down) in a day. The event is free to artists who display their work and it is also free to the public. (For examples of past exhibits see the links at the right.)

If your art is accepted for the show, you can bring it to 7111 La Jolla Blvd on the day of the event any time between noon and 5 p.m. We'll provide easels for your work and help you put it up. The show opens at 6 p.m., and we hope you'll be present from 6 to 9 p.m. to meet with other artists, collectors, and people interested in art. We will have an Art Talk at 7 p.m. that will give artists a chance to briefly describe their work. After the artists talk, there will be a short presentation on art (the topics vary). The event ends at 9 p.m. You or someone you designate will pick up your work at the end of the show.

These art exhibits are a fun opportunity to see what other artists are doing and talk to people interested in art.

The next Exhibit

We produced seven Groundbreaking Art Exhibits in a twelve-month span, and the beautiful art and artists can be seen in the links at the right. Now we are taking a break to rethink the Art Exhibit - what we can do to make it better, how it can have more impact for the artists, and how we can get more collectors and artists together. Our next exhibit will probably be in late 2015 - but we will keep you posted on this site. Meanwhile check out the links at the right to see the great artists from last year.

How to display your art

The next art exhibit is not yet scheduled - we are working on redesigning the show to help the great artists that participate. Once the next show is announced, there will be only two steps to apply.

  1. Fill out the application, available here when the date of the next show is announced.
  2. Submit jpgs of the work you would like to bring to If your art is accepted for the exhibit, we will use the jpgs to promote your art. (NOTE: Don't send email here until the next show is announced; in the meantime please direct your comments and questions to
