Bible insights from your friends at La Jolla Lutheran Church

Your prayers have immediate impact

Reading the Bible every day is a very good habit, because the Bible has information you can't get anywhere else. There are some things about your life that you won't know if you don't read the Bible.

One thing you may not know on your own can be learned from Daniel 11: Your prayers have immediate impact.

Many people wouldn't believe this from the evidence of their lives, because many times it seems like our prayers are unanswered, and many times the answers we do receive seem slow in coming.

But Daniel 10:12-13 (and also Daniel 9:23) show that prayers are answered right away. But even if the answer is "Yes," it sometimes takes quite a bit of time and effort for the results to become visible in our lives.

So thank you to all the people who have been praying for the world. Your prayers can change the course of history, especially when you pray for people who don't know that they can ask God for help.

God, thank you for hearing us when we cry to you. Thank you for helping us so much. Thank you that we can help others like you help us. We praise you. Amen.
