God can protect you from the evil one

Many people would like to be protected from life's challenges and hurts. But Jesus realizes that to accomplish something great, you will encounter opposition. You will have to overcome. You might get a few bruises, dings and scrapes along the way.

As a result, Jesus doesn't ask that you be protected from the world. Rather he warns his followers that they may be hated because they listen to him.

Instead, Jesus asks God that you be protected from the evil one.

Jesus knows the kind of protection you really need.

God, thanks for protecting us from the evil one and for helping us to be faithful to you. We praise you. Amen.
