Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit

People thought John the Baptist might be the Messiah. So he told them no, that the Messiah would be much greater. "I baptize you with water," John said. "He will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire."

The video below gives a quick sample of what Jesus and the Bible say about being baptized with fire (a terrible  experience) and being baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Some verses you can check about fire:

Everyone's work will be tested by fire. Deeds of little value will be burned up as if they never happened. Only what is of great value will survive.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15

People who do not bear good fruit will be thrown into the fire. Matthew 3:10 and 7:19

Judging other people (who are created in God's image) puts one in danger of the fire. Matthew 5:22

Those who cause sin and do evil will be burned. Matthew 13:40-50

Sin needs to be quickly cut out of your life, because its consequences are devastating. Matthew 18:8-9

The fire was not prepared for you. But you will wind up there if you have no mercy on people in need. Matthew 25:41

Jesus warned people of the fire so they could escape its danger.

John said Jesus baptized people with the Holy Spirit. Here are some verses you can check about the Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is not automatically given at baptism. Acts 8:15-17

The Holy Spirit is freely given on request. Luke 11:13

The Holy Spirit will teach truth and point to Jesus. John 14:26

The Holy Spirit gives you the power to follow God's call. John 20:20

The Holy Spirit gives different gifts for the common good. 1 Corinthians 12

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not that helpful if you have no love. 1 Corinthians 13

God, help us to quickly let go of everything that has no value in your eyes, and help us to expend our lives on things that matter. Thank you for your mercy. Thank you for the Holy Spirit guiding our paths. We praise you. Amen.
